Google Opt Out Data Protection- your personal data

Your personal data- Google Privacy Protection- Health Direct generates a meagre amount of income from displaying Google's AdSence ads to cover our editorial time.
Google changed they way that they function. Consequently we're letting you know about the upcoming launch of their new interest based advertising process.
The new approach is required because of Google's purchase of the DoubleClick organisation and the use of the DoubleClick DART cookie.
-
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on the Health Direct site.
-
Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to users based on their visit to this sites and other sites on the Internet.
-
You can opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Opt Out ad and content network privacy policy and click on the OPT OUT button.
-
Save your opt-out preference permanently- With this browser plugin you can permanently opt out of the DoubleClick cookie, which is an advertising cookie that Google uses.
The plugin lets you keep your opt-out status for this browser even when you clear all cookies.
-
You can also opt out of all DART cookies and clean up your system using the link above.
Health Direct notes that whilst Google's data protection issue might be regarded as intrusive, it is potentially no worse than the labour government's plans to track all of your online website visits and emails. And there is no way that you can opt out of their big brother surveillance.
Interest-based advertising will allow advertisers to display ads based on a user's previous interactions with them, such as visits to advertiser website and also to reach users based on their interests (e.g. "sports enthusiast"). To develop interest categories, Google will recognise the types of web pages that users visit throughout the Google content network. As an example, if you visit a number of sports pages, they will add them to the "sports enthusiast" interest category. To learn more about your associated account settings, please visit the AdSense Help Centre at http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=20310&hl=en_GB.
As a result of this announcement, our privacy policy reflects the use of interest-based advertising. Please review the information at https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=100557&hl=en_GB and ensure that your browser data protection options are up to date.
Google's new data issues took effect on 8 April 2009.
Please note-
Respect given where respect is due.
Whilst we applaud and respect the NHS staff that work and deliver incredible
results to patients under pressure from ridiculous amounts of red tape
in adverse conditions, we deplore the armies of paper pushers that the
Labour government is creating in their desperate attempt to justify
the huge amounts of tax that they are wasting on the NHS.
We are a "not for profit" organisation who believes that in
the new era of openness under the Freedom of Information Act that it
is in the interests of all parties to be open and honest about the value
for money that the new Labour reforms are achieving for all of the billions
of pounds that they are costing.
