Doctors vote over NHS managers

Doctors at four hospitals in Greater Manchester are being balloted to see if they support a motion of no confidence in their NHS management.
Three hundred consultants and senior doctors from the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust vote on Tuesday.
The trust covers North Manchester General Hospital in Crumpsall, Bury's Fairfield Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary and the Royal Oldham Hospital.
Staff say they are not being consulted on major decisions.
The trust says it is disappointed the vote is going ahead.
Maternity closure
It says every consultant and senior doctor has been sent a letter offering them the chance to meet managers to discuss their concerns.
Chief executive Chris Appleby said: "We can't pre-empt the ballot but I've already written
to all consultants and other senior doctors, offering to meet them at any time, any place to discuss their concerns in detail.
"That offer is an open one, irrespective of how the vote goes."
The trust covers North Manchester General Hospital in Crumpsall, Fairfield Hospital in Bury, Rochdale Infirmary and the Royal Oldham Hospital.
Staff are said to be angry about the proposed closure of the maternity unit at Fairfield Hospital.
They are also annoyed by a 200% rise in staff car parking charges at Tameside General Hospital.
